What Is Counselling?
The aim of counselling is to enable you to come to a better understanding of yourself and the situation you are in. Counselling is talking to someone outside of your situation on any issues that may be concerning you. It means that you can be heard and really listened to in a safe relationship where you can feel trust. Its time out, to talk about how you feel and helps you to look at things in a different way - maybe you can find some answers to your questions.
Off the Record has been set up to offer FREE, CONFIDENTIAL counselling for Young People in Tameside, Glossop and surrounding area. Everyone between 13 - 28 is welcome to use the services of Off The Record. Our counsellors are all trained and will treat you as an individual, respect your opinions and not judge you.
Here at Off The Record we know how important the chance to speak to someone in confidence can be. As members of the British Association for Counselling, we follow their code of ethics and practice for counsellors. Of course, this topic will be fully discussed if you want to use the services of Off The Record.
We understand that it can be difficult to make the first contact but if you feel that we could help you here at Off The Record, contact us for an appointment at any time - we have a 24 hour Ansaphone outside of our working hours.
If it's difficult for you to make the initial appointment, we also run a 'drop-in' where you can just turn up to speak to a counsellor in confidence, or find out more information about our services.
